Sledge Hammer
Running this with Randy's extreme valve, hammer and spring, and moderator. The barrel is very nicely finished and after fire lapping is showing excellent accuracy. I am achieving the following results running 72 grain cast bullets:

Shot string at 3300psi (FPS):
977 - 972 - 966 - 965 - 949 - 944

I strongly suggest having Randy set up the gun with the extreme valve and kit.

.257 700mm barrel
1st impressions: AMAZING...in ever way possible. Super fast shipping ordered Thursday got it Saturday. packaged very well and pellets were double bagged. I also ordered the shroud for this barrel and these guys took the time to install it on the barrel for me. excellent lines, finish and bluing of entire barrel and shroud. took only 5 min and I had my new barrel installed in to my escape ss. now it feels very balanced.

I ordered the 68 gr hp and the 84 gr spitz .257 pellets great fit and all evenly formed.

First test shot for sound, operation and power. 2800 psi fill, set my escape to power 6, loaded a 88 gr spitz, set up my pellet trap and a 2" thick phone book, took shot from about a foot away, and pulled the trigger.....bang.
I was expecting a BAANNG!!! so sound I greatly reduced, round exited barrel cleanly so operation is a pass, and power OMG THE POWER.
pellet cleanly passed through the entire 2" thick phone book and buried its self another 1.5" into my pellet trap back stop of jeans.

Further reviews to come....

.257 Condor Results
The barrel I ordered on the AirForce Condor rifle is the 700 mm length .257 TJ's rifle barrel. R&L Airguns installed the barrel and their Extreme Valve as per my order for the Condor. Randy suggested that I use the JSB Exact Kings 25.4 grain pellets so I bought a can with the rifle. I put a Hawke Sidewinder 6 x 24 scope on it. I also installed a custom length Bullseye Bill's shroud on it as it was LOUD without a shroud.

Some friends just came over for our get together today and I took the Condor ,257 out to my 50 yard outdoor range to let them shoot it. I first shot 3 times at 50 yards and got a .375" center-to-center group (one ragged hole) without sandbagging the rifle on those first three 3000 psi shots with the power wheel set appropriately to obtain the correct velocity. I was just resting my forehand on a support.

My two friends then shot it and each of them hit the target's 1.125" bulls eye at 50 yards on their first and most of their subsequent shots.

I am using the JSB Exact Kings 25.4 grain, 25 caliber pellets and I use the power wheel to regulate the velocity as I mentioned in my original post on Gateway to Airguns regarding getting 65 consistent shots (1000 to 1050 fps) from my Condor .257 on each fill of the reservoir.

I have not slugged the barrel yet so all I can tell you is that it shoots extremely well at 50 yards with the JSB pellets as delivered. It does require the absolutely lowest power wheel setting to keep the pellets subsonic at reservoir pressures from 2300 to 1700 psi. That is fine with me as I bought the rifle to shoot cast bullets, not pellets and just thought I would shoot some pellets for kicks before rechambering and cutting a proper leade for the cast bullets. I have not slugged the barrel yet but it is supposed to have a .257" groove to groove diameter with a .250" bore and I expect that is exactly what it has. I have many other spring and CO2 airguns but this is my first PCP and I am very happy with it.

I think the rifle will have plenty of power to shoot 70 grain cast bullets after I custom fit the chamber end of the barrel for them.

Randy was great to deal with and my rifle shipped the very next day with the custom barrel and valve installed.

Very Nice
randy i just recieved my 257 barrel a few minutes ago..OUTSTANDING piece of air gun ordance..its a beauty even came with a barrel support for the end..i have the condor ss it has a longer frame so it can house the sound baffles.so a 24 inch would only come to the end of the frame..the 700mm barrel sticks out about three inches..looks really cool
